If you’re thinking this is going to be that same nice, heavy weight blanket you bought at the boardwalk in Ocean City back in the 90’s, then you are mistaken. The blanket is much lighter in weight. However! It’s very warm, soft, and comforting. While it did not work as a yoga blanket, which was my original intent, I have found it to be a very cozy addition to the den, and the light weight makes it so that I often swan around the house on chilly mornings with it wrapped around me pretending I’m Frida Kahlo having my first cup of coffee on the back porch while trying to ignore Diego’s incessant snoring from the house across our shared courtyard. Cochino!Anyway, it’s natural fiber so it smells good and feels good. No shrinking or fading after several washes. I just find it delightful in general and only barely sometimes wish it had that bit of weight I was hoping for. Still, very much worth the price.Great Value! The colors are rich and fabric soft.This blanket is heavy and strong and I love it.Perfect weight and size for placing under my yoga mat when practicing outdoors or on a very hard surface. Provides a little cushioning for the knees and some warmth on chillier days.I'm just starting a restorative yoga practice & was surprised that there are "yoga blankets" - like really, I have blankets, what's so special about this that it needs a special blanket. But yeah. These are the right size to roll/fold to make supports with just the right amount of give to be comfortable but still supportive; and much more practical than my queen size bed blankets or couch throws or towels. These feel pretty soft & warm without being too hot, and I really like that they don't have fringe to get in the way. I've seen reviews of other Mexican blankets that they are course & loosely woven, but these feel good & sturdy.As others have noted, the ends are rolled hemmed, but the sides are serged rather then hemmed. And heads up that they are not cotton - the listing says "recycled" fibers, which I missed but isn't a deal breaker; the label on them says "100% acrylic" & to wash on cold but no drying instructions. I'm hoping they don't shed into a pile of fluff in washing b/c I like them so far.This is a legit falsa, for a good price. Confirming this blanket is heavier than other falsas I bought online. People who say it is not heavy may have a different definition of heavy. They are probably looking for extra heavy. It is a real, standard thickness falsa. I’m looking forward to washing it so that it gets softer. It is the same thickness I associate with other good falsas I have owned. It is also A sturdy weave. Not a cheap lightweight falsa that is overpriced, like what has been flooding the amazon market lately. But just be advised that it’s not heavy in the sense of super duper thick. It’s just a good solid falsa. The weave and the colors really have a pretty contrast. One note is the tassels are not very substantial—- a bit thin and short. I am used to full tassels, but I’m not too worried about that for my uses. I’m just glad I can finally stop returning crummy falsas. :)Large is the size of an oversized towel.I'm using them to cover a couple of outdoor chairs and they fit okay, but just barely.Fabric is thick and not so soft, but I'm only interested in them as covers.Somewhat satisfied with them for my use.Colors are also "meh" - nothing special about these other than no tassels.
