We purchased two of these blankets during prime days for our sons (8 & 12) for an upcoming backpacking trip. Kids sleeping bags tend to not compress enough for backpacking and often end up on the heavier side. I bought two small compression sacks for these and they easily compressed down into a small ball and fit in the sleeping bag compartment of their packs. My husband and I already owned sleeping bag liners so we gave those to the kids to ensure warmth between the openings of the snaps.Our friends went the sleeping bag route. Bought the same compression sacks and not only struggled with the compressions sacks, but even in the sacks their boys’ sleeping bags had to go in the main compartment of their pack taking up a lot of room and requiring the parent to carry more.Our boys were initially bummed at the idea of getting quilts and wanted the same sleeping bags as their friends. But once the quilts arrived, they were so happy with the colors, style, feel and how light they were to carry, they quickly changed their mind. Between the quilt, sleeping pad, and liner, they were toasty warm down to 41°.I have a popular R brand quilt and these are equally great quality. This was a great deal with prime, but the product is definitely worth the original price.
